3d. ISLAM’S THEOLOGICAL JIHAD
PART 2 IN SERIES: SLEEPING GIANT OF ISLAM AWAKENS
By Dr. Earl Parvin
2016
2. INTRODUCTION: It is quite obvious to the serious student of Islam [570 AD] that Mohammed was very familiar with Judaism [2000BC], Zoroastrianism [600s BC] and Christianity [30 AD] , for the Koran is filled with material and ideas which were Pre-Islamic historically in these other religious books. It is a rather lame excuse to suggest that Mohammed was illiterate; therefore, he could not have read this material. As a successful caravaneer and salesman, he was well-traveled and indeed a fast learner with a brilliant mind, a good businessman, a great tactician and military leader, though emotionally troubled, fearing demon possession. The tragedy was that he did not know the Lord as Savior, thus didn’t have the Holy Spirit to guide him. He therefore, was open to Demon possession. He even recognized that he was potentially Demon possessed and shared that fear with his wife.
3. THEISM It is also true that many religions flourished in the Arabian Desert oases. The Jewish Diaspora was widespread after 70 AD, and Christianity was well established during the first 4 centuries. Monotheism was not unknown, for the most widespread knowledge of one god in the pre-Christian world was the moon god, Allah, whom its followers recognized as the one all-supreme God among many gods, which is MONISM.
ONE GOD---The concept of One Supreme God, as emphasized in the Muslim doctrine was widespread in Arabia, for it allowed many gods to be venerated by the tribesmen of the desert. This is henotheism or one among many. Mohammed’s doctrine of god, however, was unique among the polytheistic desert tribes, because he wanted to eliminate all other gods but the Supreme God, Allah, of his Quraish tribe. That was monotheism and completely unacceptable to his tribe and all the others, because, the Kaaba, in Mecca, was a pantheon dedicated to 360 gods and as such was a point of pilgrimage. The Quraish tribe was the protector of the Kaaba, which was a primary source of income as caravans and religious pilgrims coursed through the city.
Where did Mohammed obtain his monotheistic ideas? There were Jews and Christians living in Mecca. In fact, it is said that Khadijah, his wife was a Nestorian Christian. Her uncle who instructed Mohammed in the Christian doctrines was also a Nestorian. It is also significant that in the early days of his assumed prophet hood, Mohammed had instruction from a Jewish relative of Khadijah, therefore, he considered himself the last of the Jewish prophets who was sent to call Israel back to their One God.
4. WHY THE GOD ALLAH? Why not Jehovah of the Old Testament? Or the God of the New Testament? Mohammed’s earliest training was about Allah, the god of his Quraish tribe. Mohammed was orphaned at an early age and raised by those who worshipped Allah and instilled into his childish memories a strong attachment. Allah was the god of his tribe. The worship of Allah was widespread among the tribes whom he wished to influence. There was something appealing to someone who was disinherited and insecure about the characteristics of Allah, who was Creator, Merciful, Wholly Other, Unique, Omniscient, Omnipotent, Eternal, Transcendent, and unapproachable, and did not reveal himself to man, but demanded total obedience. After all, to Mohammed, Judaism and Christianity had been corrupted by their followers. [Tragically, he was correct.]
The god of the Jews seemed less than demanding of His followers, Israel, who were forever wandering off, idolatrous and not submitting to Him.
5. THE GOD OF THE CHRISTIANS which Mohammed learned about from Eastern or Nestorian Christians, was very confusing. The Christianity he was taught, involved heretical teachings concerning the Deity of Christ. They believed that Jesus was not born the son of God, but was only the ‘God Bearer’, who became God at His baptism yet remained more a man and not God. Mohammed further misunderstood the necessity of the virgin birth because of a faulty doctrine of sin. Sin did not separate man from God. God was perceived as controllable, who could be placated by penances, indulgences and pilgrimages.
6. Nestorianism condoned idolatry such as Mariolatry as taught in Western Christianity or Roman Catholicism. The straw that broke the camel’s back, so to speak, was the papal decree in AD 600, called the Verdict of Separation, which sought to bring newcomers to the faith in Arabia, to obey the Holy Father’s edicts issued from Rome. The edict stipulated that “under the penalty of death, Mary, the Mother of Jesus, had to be worshipped as the Mother of God, or else Jesus could not be worshipped as the Son of God.”
7. PRE-ISLAMIC PAGANISM. Mohammed understood this for what it was, a return to polytheism which the tribes had just left. That is, the pagan worship of Al- Lat, the goddess of the sun, the virgin mother of Allah, Uzzah and Manat.
8. These three are called ‘daughter-gate’ or the pagan female trinity, which Mohammed said he was tricked by Satan to include in the Koran as worthy of worship. In the early days in Mecca, Mohammed was trying to lure the tribes into following his teaching. Later he renounced these verses now made famous by Rushdie’s book, The Satanic Verses. This anomaly in the Koran is acceptable with the doctrine of Abrogation. This doctrine teaches that the former is replaced by the later.
9. ABRAHAM'S FATHER. One interesting Biblical reference to Abraham’s father Terah, [Josh. 24:2], indicates that he worshipped other gods. The primary god of Summer and Chaldea was the god Nanar or Sin, the ‘moon god’, also called Allah. Further, when they left Ur, they went north to Haran, which was another seat of Moon worship. There Terah died and Abraham was free to fulfill God’s instructions.
10. The Crescent Moon as symbol of Islam is an obvious reference to Allah, the moon god, although this is adamantly denied as pre-Islamic. Several Islamic countries use 11. the crescent moon on their flags.
12. THE PROPHETS---Islam reveres many of the prophets of the Old Testament. In fact 25 are listed in the Koran. The prophets were thought of as ‘one who brought a book’, NOT anyone who ‘prophesied about the future’. Mohammed considered himself to be the last of the 127,000 prophets or the ‘seal of the prophets’, super ceding Jesus.
PROPHET M. sought to cleanse the Kaaba of the 364 other gods, excepting Allah, the God of the Quraish Tribe, represented by the Black Stone. Therefore, the Tribe rejected him, realizing that this action would deprive them of the lucrative income of 'Keeper of the Kaaba' for the other tribes. M. and disciples fled for their lives to Yuthrub where three Jewish tribes who lived in the oasis on the caravan trail north/south, accepted him as their Prophet... that is until his defective Biblical knowledge caused them to reject him. This 'Flight' is year ONE in the Muslim calendar, or 622 to us.
As mayor of Yuthrub, he renamed it Medina, and recruiting some tribesmen, they raided the Meccan caravans, until the Quraish relented, before they were bankrupt and allowed him back into Mecca, as victor.
M. now determines that his calling as the Prophet of the Arabs, is to purify the corrupt Biblical Scriptures of the Jewish O.T and the Christian N. T. The Koran, he claims was dictated to him by Gabriel, however, much of it is clearly plagiarized from earlier Scriptures, primarily the Bible. Thus, I see Islam as the Counterfeit of Christianity, for it has corrupted every Christian doctrine.
13. THE TRINITY. The Muslim accuse the Christians of having three gods, Father, Mary and Gabriel, thus misunderstanding the nature of God as manifest in the Trinity.
14. THE VIRGIN BIRTH. He did not understand the necessity of the Virgin Birth through the instrumentality of the Holy Spirit, but insisted that God must have had a wife, to have a son. He did not understand the purpose of Christ’s incarnation, to become sin for us, who knew no sin that he could become the blood sacrifice to satisfy a perfectly pure God…for, without the shedding of blood, blood that was pure and uncontaminated by a sinful nature, there could be no forgiveness. Heb. 9:22.
15. Interesting, GOD DOES HAVE A WIFE according to the prophets Jeremiah and Isaiah.
“RETURN, FAITHLESS PEOPLE,” DECLARES THE LORD, “FOR I AM YOUR HUSBAND. JEREMIAH 3:14
FOR YOUR MAKER IS YOUR HUSBAND, THE LORD ALMIGHTY IS HIS NAME, THE HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL IS YOUR REDEEMER; HE IS CALLED THE GOD OF ALL THE EARTH. Is.54:5
16. ISLAM'S ALLAH. Islam's God, Allah, was the Chief Deity among 360 in the Kaaba or Pantheon of the Arabian Tribes. It is easy to believe that Allah was the same ancient Moon God, whose consort was the Sun Goddess and whose daughters were stars about whom M. says he was tricked into saying it was ok to worship them in the Koran. Later he abrogated this idea. Allah was the God of M's. Quraish Tribe. Allah's characteristics are: Creator, Merciful, WHOLLY OTHER, Unique, Omniscient, Omnipotent, Eternal, Transcendent, UNAPPROACHABLE, revealing only His WILL, NOT HIMSELF.
17. He is totally impersonal, with no humane or loving qualities as does Jehovah. He rewards and PUNISHES, DEMANDS TOTAL OBEDIENCE OR SUBMISSION, which is the meaning of the Arabic word, Islam. M. knew about the Christian and Jewish God, but rejected the Catholic doctrine of Mariolatry; therefore, establishing the doctrine: that GOD HAS NO LIKENESS [SON].
18. it IS FASCINATING THAT THE SYMBOL OF ISLAM, WHICH ADORNS MOST MOSQUES IS A CRESCENT MOON. It is also noteworthy that the Muslim month-long Festival of Ramadan begins and ends with the Crescent Moon. Note further that the Muslim Creed... 'ALLAHU AKBAR' literally means God is Greater, however, it can also mean, 'God is the Moon God'.
19. ALLAH AS COMPARED WITH JEHOVAH. President Busch foolishly said they are the same which we all pray to. No, there is no LIKENESS... Allah has no son to die for lost sinners, or to be an Advocate for poor lost sinners who need an ALONGSIDE before God. Allah never gave a HOLY SPIRIT to indwell the believer.
20. ALLAH IS ONLY FOR MUSLIMS. The government of Indonesia has determined that Christians cannot use the name Allah for their God. So! As just stated, why would Christians want to use the name? Because it is the name used in their Bible.
21. ISLAM'S SUBMISSION. This is the meaning of the Arabic world, however, that submission is out of mortal fear of a despotic god. The Christian however is a Bond Servant by loving choice, not out of mortal fear. Our God bids us come near [Mt 11:28], and in response HE comes near [James 4:7-8].
22. ISLAM IS SAID TO BE PERFECT. Therefore, no Holy Spirit is needed, the believer is strictly on his own recognizance. Sharia Law dictates every aspect of life. That which is perfect , needs no PERFECTING SPIRIT.
23. DOCTRINE OF SIN---Islam has a weak doctrine of sin. Sin is merely getting caught, not the fact of doing wrong or that which separates a person from god. Sin in the mind of the Muslim is not keeping the Quranic law, such as the ablutions before praying, or praying with soiled clothing. The most grievous sin is to become an infidel by leaving Islam, slandering the Koran or its prophet. These sins are sufficient for a person to be put to death, but not sufficient to separate from God. Ablutions are sufficient to restore one from his understanding of the price of sin. Fighting Jihad or especially being a martyr promises instant cleansing from any accumulated sin, and those of family.
24. THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST---In Islam, ISA or Jesus is revered as a prophet. In fact he was the most important until Mohammed. He is not the Son of God, for in Islam, Allah has no ‘likeness’. It is repugnant to the Muslim to think of Allah as having a wife…otherwise how could he have a son? It is also denied that Jesus died on the cross. Rather, someone who looked like him died in His place.
25. ISLAM'S JESUS IN KORAN = ISA was born of Virgin Mary and performed miracles. He committed no sin and did not die. Someone who looked like Him died. Jesus is coming again, accompanying the Muslim Mahdi [Messiah], to convert the world to Islam. He will marry, have children, die and be buried alongside of M. in Medina. He is to return in the year 2022 to destroy Jabal, the Anti-Christ.
26. THE PALESTINIAN SPIN ON JESUS. He is to them a Freedom Fighter of the Palestinians. He died a Shahid, the first Palestinian Muslim Martyr.
27. SALVATION---There is no need of a Savior in Islam, for both Allah and sin are not perceived as in any way related. Good works may be sufficient to tip the balances in one’s favor. No one is ever sure. That is, unless one dies a martyr in Islam. That wipes the slate clean and brings great reward to the parents financially as well as emotionally…our son died a martyr.
28. HEAVEN OR HELL---Heaven is a rather earthy place, one of sensual pleasures, including 70 black-eyed virgins. [Scholars who have researched the term, ‘black-eyed’ find that it probably means ‘raisins’!]. It is not thought of as a place of peace and joy in the presence of a loving God. Heaven is a promise which is only hoped for. Hell on the other hand is considered as a Purgatory, where one is able to work out his short comings, hopefully. Just how, is not clear.
29. JUDGMENT DAY---Fear of Allah’s fierce judgment is a powerful motivator in Islam in this life, not the next, for it knows nothing about a god of love. Mohammed was a real hell-fire and damnation preacher who instilled FEAR as a motivator to be a good Muslim in this life to enjoy the earthy pleasures of the next.
30. ISLAM'S KORAN. Revealed to M. through Gabriel, is said to be impeccable and incorruptible. S 15:9 Believers are told to revere the Bible, but recognize that it has been corrupted. The Koran allows abrogation of older verses by newer: ie, Meccan % Medinan. The Daughter Gate verses are an embarrassment.
31 FREE SPEECH IN ISLAM. The ‘Blasphemy Law’ makes it an offense to speak ill of M., the Koran or Islam on penalty of death. The Religious Defamation Law before the UN seeks to outlaw anything "ANTI-ISLAMIC", as International law.
32. THE FIVE PILLARS OR SIX—the system of doing good works
34. PRAYING TOWARD MECCA. Prayer in Islam is important. Certain ablutions such as ceremonial washings, must precede assuming several positions throughout the prayer period Prayer times are five times daily, however, the most efficacious prayers are those offered in the Mosque and facing Mecca.
35. ISLAM AND PRISONERS. Islam appeals to downtrodden and those incarcerated.
36. ISLAMONCAPITOLHILL@GMAIL.COM. Muslim in America were seeking to send a message to all the world with inviting 50,000 in 2009. Only 3,500 came. They were seeking to say, "Our Time Has Come". Fortunately it didn't happen.
37. ISLAM IN THE WHITE HOUSE. President Obama invited Islam into the WH, however He had no time for the Christian Prayer Day, for it was TOO CONTROVERSIAL. There was time for celebrating Ramadan however.
38. BORN A MUSLIM. Every baby born to a Muslim father is automatically a Muslim. The Adhaan words [call to prayer] are the first sounds he is to hear as they are whispered into his ear upon birth. It is suicide to leave Islam.
39. HAJJ. Every able bodied individual is to make a trip to Mecca in his lifetime, costing about $5,000.00. In 2014 almost 1 million made the trip at one time.
40. HARAM MOSQUE. The trip to Mecca, culminates in the Prophet's Mosque during the annual Hajj. The visit involves quite a number of cites important in Islam.
41. KAABA. The most important practice is circumnavigating the Kaaba.
42. The Kaaba is said to have been built by Adam, and rebuilt by Abraham and Ishmael. It is an ostentatious building 81 feet high.
43. In the Kaaba is one item, the Black Stone, said to have fallen from heaven or given by Gabriel to Ishmael.
44. MEDINA MOSQUE. Beautiful example of Muslim architecture, sporting numerous minarets or spires. Place of M’s burial. Not to be venerated however.
45. MEMORIZING KORAN. The Koran is 2/3rds size of our NT. The true Koran is always in Arabic. The true test of Islam is to memorize all 6200 verses in Arabic, even if you don't speak Arabic. One is then called a Hafiz, and has earned entrance into heaven for himself and 10 others of his choice.
46. THE WORD. The word of Allah became a book, the Koran. Our God spoke and the record is our Bible. However, John tells us that "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" [1:1] The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us...the only Son full of grace and truth [v.14]
47. SIX ARTICLES OF FAITH [SUNNI]
1. ONE GOD, ALLAH [Sura 4:136] One, and only one worthy of all worship
2. ANGELS Sura 35:1
3. BOOKS: Koran, Gospel, Torah
4. PROPHETS: 25 in Koran Sura 4:69, 33:40
5. DAY OF JUDGMENT & RESURRECTION Sura 21:47
6. ALLAH'S WILL… PREDESTINATION, FATE S 6:59
48.SHORT FORM: "I BELIEVE IN (THE ONE) GOD (ALLĀH), HIS ANGELS, HIS BOOKS, HIS MESSENGERS AND THE LAST DAY, AND IN THE DESTINY, FROM GOD, WHETHER IT BE GOOD OR BAD; AND THE RESURRECTION AFTER DEATH IS TRUE. I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD BUT GOD (ALLĀH), AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND HIS MESSENGER."
49.THE MUSLIM WORLDVIEW:
BY FAITH
• THAT HE HAS SPOKEN AS RECORDED IN THE QURAN
• QURAN REVEALS ALL MAN NEEDS KNOW = ETERNAL TRUTH
• ETHICS = TOTAL OBEDIENCE TO SHARIA LAW
• MORALITY = JIHAD TO CREATE THE MOSLEM WORLD UMMA
•
50.CONCLUSION: In summary the observant Christian versed in biblical theology, cannot miss the obvious relationship between Christian / Jewish doctrine and Islamic. Studies show that there is clear plagiarism, from Mohammed’s understanding of the pre-Islamic religions as practiced in Mecca.
• ISLAM IS THE COUNTERFEIT OF CHRISTIANITY; THEREFORE, IT MUST DESTROY CHRISTIANITY & THE BIBLE WHICH JUSTIFIES ISRAEL’S RIGHT TO EXIST.
