Worldview – A Study in Apologetics                                                    World Wide Bible Institutes

I. COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

The basic concepts of Worldview are discussed and evaluated in light of Biblical truth. These concepts are illustrated by constructing worldviews of various world religions and evaluating a Creation Worldview versus an Evolutionary worldview.

 

II. COURSE OBJECTIVES

 

  1. Cognitive – What I Should Know

 

    1. The student should know the basic tenets of the Worldview concept.
    2. The student should know the reasons for the growth and influence of the worldviews  around the world.
    3. The student should know the general characteristics of the worldviews studied in view of the Bible.
    4. The student should know how to understand the motives of those holding other worldviews.

 

B. Affective – How This Course Should Change My Life or Attitude

 

1.    The student should become more compassionate towards those who are bound by any worldview

2.    The student should feel more competent and understanding in his relationships with those of different worldviews     

 

  1. Conative – How This Course Should Prepare Me for Ministry

 

1.    The student should become personally acquainted with the Worldview of some of the major religions being studied as well as the serious differences in a Biblical Creationist’s Worldview and a Evolutionist’s Worldview

    1. The student should be able to present the claims of Christ to non-Christians in a manner that specifically considers their religious worldview presuppositions.
    2. The student should be moved to seek for opportunities to minister to the spiritual needs of those who adhere to the worldviews studied in this course.

  1. Reading and studying the notebook lesson material
  2. Participating in class discussion
  3. Outside reading as available

D. Exam: A unit exam will be given, covering class notes, Power Points and discussion.
