II. LESSON
INTRODUCTION: We have established:
1. That our God, Elohim, is Godhead, that is, He exists in three distinct Personalities, all of WHOM were active in the Creation week. The Father- Architect, the Son-Builder & Holy Spirit-Enabler/Energizer
2. Our Eternal God started the clock of time for HIS cosmos.
3. Then He created Space [shamayim-heaven] as a place to put HIS cosmos
4. Next, He created the Elements [eretz-earth], which were non-existent before this, to occupy His space.
A. NOW ELOHIM CREATES ENERGY, to be used to bring order out of the chaos [tohoo & bohoo] of the elements which at this point are in suspension or solution in water. God clearly has such power, for Paul said in Romans, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His ETERNAL POWER & divine nature—have been clearly seen” [Ro 1:20]. The Psalmist also speaks of HIS “acts of power” [Ps 150:2]. Isaiah mentions, “…great power” [Is. 40:26]. The primary elements or building materials have already been stockpiled in the Primeval Sea for the SON-BUILDER to use, in following the Father -Architect’s already DESIGNED PLAN to create a U, with emphasis on a Habitable Earth to be inhabited with the creation of Mankind, as well as the animal kinds
B. THIS CREATIVE FIAT DISPLAYS GOD’S OMNIPOTENCE. Only now, in the 21st C. are we beginning to comprehend the vast amount of energy which is displayed in forming the super galaxies of galactic space with their teeming multiplied billions of celestial bodies in their finely tuned massive orbits, held in place by GRAVITY. Or the intensity of the energy involved in the hyper activity of sub-atomic particles racing in their spaces: 1. the nucleus containing the ‘Proton + Neutron’ made up of Quarks controlled by the STRONG NUCLEAR FORCE & 2. The Electron confined in its orbital ‘cloud’ by the amazing ELECTROMAGNETIC FORCE.
C. HOW DID GOD ILLUSTRATE THE INTRODUCTION OF ENERGY into His stockpile of building materials? The Hebrew ‘word picture’ of this fiat is absolutely amazing.
1. The Word Picture begins with, “the Spirit of God.” Here Elohim introduces the Third Person of His Godhead…God the Holy Spirit. Over 100 times this phrase: the “Spirit of God” is used in Scripture. Each time it is to energize the recipient with God’s Power:
To Witness [Paul, Ro. 15:19] or
To endure [Stephen, Acts 7:55],
To drive out demons [Mtt. 12:28] or, finally,
To take up residence in the believer [I Cor 6:19],
To enable him to resist the Devil [Job 4:7], empower
To speak for God [Dn4:8].
2. The Word Picture continues with [racaph = hovering, NIV, moved...KJV]. The word is only used three times. Note, Du. 32:11, It is graphic: “Like an eagle…hovers over its young…”. The Word Picture is this: an eagle is sitting [participle] on its nest, actively doing something. The Hebrew reading this text clearly understood why an eagle would be sitting on its nest of eggs. Obviously it is brooding, hatching the eggs by putting body heat into the eggs. What is body heat but ENERGY! Also note, the word also includes the concept of ‘stirring the eggs’. During the incubation period, the eggs need to be rolled into different positions or ‘stirred’. I recall this procedure as a young person working in a chicken hatchery. Periodically we had to change the position of the eggs in the incubator during the incubation period.
3. I suggest that TREMENDOUS energy is necessary for the elements to congeal into the end products they were created to become according to the Architect’s design. Or the energizing of the ‘Particles in the Atom’. The detailing of the chemical compounds possible in minute detail is only now becoming obvious. That through scientific investigation and the invention of more and more powerful instrumentation to explore the intricacies of the Intelligent Design of the elements by the Architect. The alternative is the haphazard trial & error of endless evolutionary experimentation to find what works to the presumed advantage of the user.
4. Now please Note: At this point in God’s creative program it is also necessary for Him to create the Natural Laws whereby His energy injection will be used.
NATURAL LAW is defined: “A law or body of laws that derives from nature and is believed to be binding upon human actions apart from or in conjunction with laws established by human authority.” [Wickipedia] This definition effectively rules God as unnecessary.
May I suggest that for me Natural Laws are man’s observation or discovery of how God’s Creation operates in an orderly, meticulous, obervable fashion.
D. MEN OF SCIENCE HAVE DESIGNED INSTRUMENTATION which is indeed phenomenal. Their quest for an understanding of many things about our U is laudable. The one major flaw is not their research, unless the research parameters were deliberately skewed, but their conclusions as driven by a secular worldview which I call Evolutionary Faith.
1. ENERGY being put into the creation at this point is essentially that energy which is necessary to make possible the Laws of Thermodynamics. Those laws state, that in our current cosmos, energy can neither be created nor destroyed; therefore, whatever that energy is, that is what the Spirit of God was injecting. That energy can be used, but in use it will be put in a less usable form. This is called Entropy. The Bible speaks of this phenomenon following the tragic disobedience of Eve and Adam
a) The Atomic structure of Nucleus = Strong Nuclear Force +
b) The structure of the Atom + Electromagnetic Force
c) Decaying Nuclear energy = Weak Nuclear Force
d) That which holds celestial objects in place = Gravitational Force
e) Ionization = energy transfer
All forces operate with Fundamental Physical Constants which are designated by a letter: 1. Velocity of light = c; charge of electron = e; mass of electron = me; Plank’s Constant = h; Fine Structure = α; Energy = E; mass = m; frequency = v
2. Perhaps the most phenomenal aspect of the injection of energy is found in the structure of the Atom. Early on, it was thought that the Atom was made up of three constituents: the electron [negatively charged], the proton [positively charged] & the neutron [no charge]. The last two are located in the nucleus of the Atom and are also called Nucleons.
a) At the end of the 20th C, it was discovered that the matter of the U [the Atom] was made up of THREE indivisible fundamental CREATED PARTICLES: 1. the electron, 2. & 3. ‘Up quark’ & ‘Down quark’. These three Particles are the materialization of ‘electromagnetic ENERGY’. Or, we might say, the indivisible congealing of ENERGY in particles.
b) The study of these particles is called ‘particle physics” as developed in the 1930s. It is Baryonic Matter.
c) 
d) The Standard Model of Elementary Particles [STM]
e) The STM postulates that Matter is BUILT from Quarks [purple], & Leptons [green], held together by fundamental FORCES, Mediated by Bosons [orange] and the ‘God Particle’ the Higgs [yellow].
f) The STM tries BUT STILL CANNOT FULLY EXPLAIN THE NATURE OF THE WORLD. They STILL look for the THEORY OF EVERYTHING.
3. Numerous kinds of energy are cataloged in scientific investigation;
a) Kinetic energy = energy due to its motion
b) Radiant energy = electromagnetic radiation
c) Potential energy = due to its position in a force field: [bow / arrow] or Higgs Field which imparts Mass as particles pass.
d) Thermal energy = derived from heat
e) Chemical energy
f) Mechanical energy
g) Nuclear explosions such as the bomb detonated over Hiroshima, Japan, reveal that there is unimagined energy which has been packed into the little Atom which can be split [fission] or combined [fusion].
h) Our Sun’s energy derives by consuming 620 million metric tons of Hydrogen each second by means of Nuclear Fusion, transforming Hydrogen into Helium. [Wikipedia]
i) Then consider the energy consumed by all the celestial bodies in space: stars, galaxies, etc., by fission.
4. Secular Scientists are committed to the idea that all energy is derived from natural causes. They speculate by Evolutionary FAITH [for they cannot prove it by scientific means], that 13.8 billion years ago a cosmic cloud compressed until a massive explosion of energy called the Big Bang started the cosmos. Then 5 thousand years ago Gravity pulled together a cloud of gas and dust to form the Earth and Planets. The energy of our Sun finally became stable or into equilibrium.
5. ELECTROMAGNETIC SPECTRUM. It is a grand display of God’s attention to the amazing details about how we use ENERGY. There are three physical properties which help us understand electromagnetism: 1. Frequency, 2. Wavelength, & 3. Photon energy, which is the ‘force carrier’. This ‘force’ [energy] is measured in electron volts [eV]. These range from very minute amounts of energy [femto eV] to massive [billions eV].
a) We recognize the Photon as that which manifests as LIGHT. The particle ‘photon’ is seen in the chart of Elementary Particles [p.3].
b) The most impressive and elusive particle is the Higgs Boson force carrier, which is presumed to hold all the other particles together
c) The Electromagnetic Spectrum Chart reveals an amazing spread of energy uses such as the radio & TV frequencies and x-rays of Drs.
6. Speaking of energy, just think of just how much God packed into the nucleus of the Atom as released in the explosion of the Atom Bomb!
7. UNIVERSAL AND CONSTANT. As scientists have discovered the laws governing the operation of the Universe, they have also discovered how finely tuned it is. Each theorem they postulate seems to always have a “constant” built into the formula. This means, there is little room for error in how things operate. So much for ‘natural laws’ which were created by God.
8. Scientists are still looking to understand 70% of the energy of the Universe. which they call Dark Energy. It is perceived as an invisible force, which they believe is causing the Universe to expand. They also postulate that there is Dark Matter [25%] which is an invisible and unknown form of matter. Normal Matter [5%] is Atomic or Baryonic Matter,which man is cataloging. Therefore, we are able to say, that man has not been able to find or understand 95% of the energy that God the Holy Spirit Energizer injected into the Universe at Creation.
E.CONCLUSION… Science has done a yeoman’s job in seeking to explain the nature of our world, but they operate with human ingenuity, at best producing a ‘work in progress’. They think they have finally found the ‘God Particle’, when it has already been revealed… in the Word of God, which they deny. It is amazing that God has given us such insight into HIS nature as revealed in the creation account. We now proceed with His revelation of the creation of light. Even as Energy is interactive with Matter, we shall now see that Light is an integral part of the Energy Spectrum.
May we note with a bit of humor, that the very Natural Laws which Evolutionists find so necessary to rule out an architect, were indeed created by that very Architect! Also it is rather tragic that all the wonderful advances Scientists have made in discovering God’s laws, which He designed into the system, are all subject to Entropy. It is good we can escape this time-dated world and spend Eternity with our wonderful Creator, Redeemer & Coming King.
I used to wonder why after God finished His Creative Fiat, the 7th day He rested? [Gen 2:2]. God doesn’t need to rest as we do. But that is not the import of this verse. The verse states: “On the seventh day God ENDED HIS WORK [KJV] or “God had FINISHED THE WORK HE HAD BEEN DOING: [NIV]. What had He been doing? In the light of this lesson, He [through God the Holy Spirit] had injected all the ENERGY the U. would ever use! Just think! Our Sun alone consumes 600 million tons of Hydrogen per second releasing that energy to make earth inhabitable. The law of thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created nor destroyed. Thus, I conclude, God FINISHED THE WORK HE WAS DOING. The U has all the energy it has been enjoying ever since! No other energy has ever been added: it is finished. We can use that energy once, but never again in that fashion, for it was put into a less usable form.
